Bangkok, Thailand- Home (Sour) Sweet Home

Landing page.

Let’s start with the takeoff. We arrived at the airport at 9:30 AM. Eyal already checked us in in advance, so we had our seats reserved. The terminal was relatively empty and we progressed nicely from the counter to passport checks and handbags security scans. After spending some time in the airport’s tiny playground, we boarded (needless to say – after hearing the “last call for flight number 507”).

Somewhat Happy, Somewhat Sad

We started packing. At first only stuff from within closets (games, winterwear and such), so it was not really felt on the outside. The kids cannot really fully understand what they are about to be facing, but they do feel something big is about to happen. Reality Stabs

Previously at KorenFlex: after publishing our house for rent and getting fair demand, we signed up a contract for 11 months starting October 1st. About a month later, the expected tenants got an attractive job offer at China, and who are we to turn our nose up for a potential adventure (let alone be it in Asia)? So, once again, we published our house for rent, just to find out that the demand in August is not the same as in June. All families had already settled in for the upcoming school year and we found ourselves with a signed contract, but no tenants. Our kids are all signed-up for school/kindergartens for September and when the holiday season starts at the beginning of October, we will start to wander about – basecamp at grandma and grandpa, sea, desert, tents and sand.

Backing-up or Backupping

Eyal took care for the bureaucratic aspects of the contract and insurances and we signed. So this part is behind us and the house is for us to live in until October 1st. Thereafter start the holidays and with them our vagrancy.

In the mean time we get interesting responses from people around us regarding our intended trip. Continue reading “Backing-up or Backupping”
