I always liked floating. At young age, I discovered this technique that allows me to feel the water while still stay outside. Look at the sky, at the clouds drifting up there, and let the waves swing me from underneath. It is very calming, so much so that once you surrender to it and dip your ears as well so as to eliminate background sounds (“He took my ball!”, “She splashed at me!”), you can even break away from everything for a few seconds and only breath and float.

Allegedly Routine
We found a house and settled in for the next two months, until the beginning of February. We’ve learned to embrace the rains and even prepared a rain gauge to measure them and to make it interesting. So, what’s next? We are trying to adopt some kind of a routine.
Rainy Season
There is a song I like that says that the rains, when they come, bring sorrow with them. Well, I wouldn’t call it sorrow, but rather a temporary depression derived from spending too much time within four walls with the people you would normally refer to as “your loved ones”, only you cannot clearly recall how and why they earned this nickname.
One cloudy day, the rains just started and never stopped since. And by saying they didn’t stop, I literally mean they went on and on and on – non-stop. It ranges from delicate droppings to powerful showers that wash and sweep and create rivers and equals a monthly Israeli rainfall within a single day. Sometimes it comes with winds and storms and in such moments even a slight chill may sneak in to remind an autumn feel. Or maybe this chill comes from the fact that for a moment you thought that the light gray in the sky is actually light blue (because it’s been a while since you last saw blue), put on your swimming suits and even sunscreen (!?!), jump into the pool and then, instead of a pleasant sunshine to come and warm you up, the rains got stronger again. Bottom line – if we thought we managed to avoid the peak of the rainy season, it turns out we did not.
Thailand is More Convenient
We are at Koh Phangan for almost two weeks. We rent a house together with a car and a motorbike in a combined deal from a family that went on a vacation from their vacation. This allows us to roam the island looking for a house and checking out the beaches. Here is one for example:
To answer readers’ question: yes, it is as good as it seems. Clearly, not everything is glorious, there are moments of gloom, but generally speaking it is very pleasant and calm here. And it is not just the magnificent scenery that makes up this ease atmosphere, it is essentially easier here. Why exactly, is not that simple to explain, but I am here to try. Transfer Day
Verbal meaning: Transfer – you start at one point and end at another. Day – from sunrise to sunset.
But what does it actually mean? It means hanging lots of notes with new insights on our virtual refrigerator, so that we can remain in proximity to the verbal meaning next time.
